Focused Research on Methodologies, Algorithms, and Partnerships for the Development of Responsible AI

A project supported by the AXA Research Fund to pave the way Responsible AI

For the benefits of AI to be truly and safely accessible, key challenges still need to be resolved, the foremost of which is the development of AI that is responsible.

Applied research with real impact

INTERDISCIPLINARY APPROACH

This work provides a highly interdisciplinary approach that will bring together experts in HCI, AI, law, and authorities concerned with regulation and policy design. Our goal is to establish a network of researchers working across different disciplines to develop the field of Responsible AI.

DISASTER RESPONSE

Coordination of multiple UAVs for disaster response is an existing and active research area, with ongoing investigations into bringing human operators and teams into the mix. Due to the critical nature of intelligent systems used in this work, the underlying AI must act responsibly.

SMART GRIDS AND HOMES

The rise in IoT devices allows for automation of energy management and assistance for people living in residential care. As more and more end users interact with intelligent systems, research is needed to ensure these systems are responsible, as well as providing privacy and accountability.
